    I saw something on one of the news sites that magnetic North is changing it’s position. Do you think that could be the cause of our strange weather patterns?

    • The magnetic north pole is always on the move. Mariners using magnetic compasses must account for ‘variation’ (the difference in degrees between True and Magnetic north) which changes constantly. Charts show the local variation next to the Compass Rose. Variation needs to be calculated monthly basis because of the movement. I too saw the article about magnetic north. It is moving faster than normal basically from an area in Canada towards Russia. There seems to be an ‘attraction’ to the Russian area …
