At the risk of being labeled a heretic and burned at the stake, I’m anxious to see Google’s new AI weather forecasting program…GenCast…at work. Tried to post a link to an article but wouldn’t work. Articles are in phys.org and Gizmodo,as well as several others.

I really don’t think these models are going to be able to nail down a storm until later on in the week or the weekend. Going to take a break from model watching until then. I just don’ think there is anything to really see right now. The indices says it’s coming but may be too soon for the models to realize that.

Is it me or are we not seeing the models necessarily go into heat wave mode even though the SOI has been up quite a bit recently?

Henry, in your videos your maps are cut off on the tops and on the left sides. It looks like they’ve shifted up and to the left. Can’t see as much of Canada and half the left coast is off screen.
