Let me remind everyone that the last time the GFS at 06z showed a snowstorm for the mid-Atlantic, 6 hours later when a full load of new data had been loaded into the 12z, that storm completely disappeared from the radar never to reappear on any future run of that model. That was fact not fiction like this run most likely is.
It will change every six hours till right before the event and it will be all rain with a mix of snow/sleet. Unless you’re located in upstate New York and Northern New England where it will be all snow

I really don’t care if it snows or not I just love the cold weather.
I am sure you love it today
It has rained twice at my house west of Hagerstown since the last week in July. While amounts around the Cumberland Valley varied for those two events, I recorded about 0.4 total. According to the NWS, there is zero chance of rain through September 20. Sure has cut down on the late season mowing, however.

Well it doesn’t look good for snow in the mid atlantic states Virginia looks to be about done
Baloney. The polar vortex is splitting so the cold will push. A negative EPO. A negative WPO. A negative NAO. The increasing strength of vertical velocities over South America. The cold pool northwest of Hawaii leading to a ridge over Alaska and a positive PNA are speaking volumes about cold returning sooner rather than later to Virginia.…Read More
I think the Mid-Atlantic is done as well I see cold rain and ice the rest of the season

Bought my son a snowblower for Christmas based on Henry’s prognostication. Everybody laughed at me because this part of OH hasn’t seen a plow-worthy event in decades. Who’s laughing now? Thanks Henry.

I think Jersey is done for the winter. I don’t see any snow falling here for the rest of the season. Hasn’t snowed in years regardless. Weathers changed, it’s just to warm
Heavy snow warning for Oakland in Garrett Co Md. Through Friday night, 6-12 inches with local amounts reaching 12-18 inches. Winter has arrived.
Yeah Cumberland pass will be shut down

I sound like a broken record but 78 with a dew point of 76. I really hope we get this rain tomorrow and Friday, we as many of us do, desperately need it.

I grew up in upstate NY – if you are looking for lower humidity. – look elsewhere!

Is it just me? Or does the AO look perpetually negative in the long run, only to turn positive more times than not in the current, or near term time frame….noticed this all winter long…..
the -Ao will only lead to more severe weather.
All of the indices and teleconnections are moving targets…they change daily. One day it says the AO will stay negative until the end of the year and the. next day it will say…”well maybe not”… You have to take it with a huge grain of salt
