I don’t like what the CFS is doing with the storm I’m hoping the GFS and or Euro doesn’t follow suit.
@weathermadness Storms are looking good Henry! Hopefully they pan out and bring the Big Daddy snows we have been looking for.
The 14th-15th storm the trough is way too far east, kicking it out to see to be a fish storm…maybe the one behind it has our name on it for the eastern seaboard
I am not worried….models will be all over the place. Wait until Sunday.
Don’t get caught up in every model run. The fact that the GFS,EURO & CANADIAN all show a storm is a good sign. Fun to watch how things transpire
Bro you should hope and pray it goes ots along with everything else..that way you’d look like a weather savant since the other day you told us the days of east coast storms are over and it will never snow again
Yup! I said the days of 30″ snowstorms along the east coast..mainly Mid-Atlantic are over….but we shall see…I would love to be wrong.
@snowman55 How can you rationalize that 30” snowstorms are done on the east coast? Do you have any scientific evidence to back up your theory? I just don’t understand the mentality of this kind of question.
Wow ..are you really taking this chat that seriously? It’s a casual weather chat…lol! I doubt if any of use besides Henry really know what we’re talking about since he’s the meteorologist I’m just a spectator throwing out my very very humble and extremely uneducated idea about what I think may or many not happen.
Time for a ride on my unicorn and then tea and crumpets with my stuffed animal family.
Huh?
@blacklabsmatter 🤣😂🤣😂 Right?
It’s all good Henry we are all well aware that winter is over as far as snow is concerned for the Mid-Atlantic, and it would appear that you are coming around to that same solution, took you a little while to get there but you are there as well. You have to realize that the MId-Atlantic snow geese have accepted this sort of weather pattern as the…Read More
@snowman55 That’s a little irrational considering it’s only Jan 2nd and not March 2nd. When have the models been correct this season? 2 out of 100 times maybe. It’s been totally impossible to even predict anything with confidence and accuracy when the models change every 6 hours from one extreme to another. Winter is far far far from over.
We shall see
Don’t throw Henry under the bus because not one forecaster has nailed down the winter thus far. It’s because all the models and teleconnections suck. It is what it is.
February has always been the snowiest month in my area and January is the 2nd snowiest month. We are only on day 2 of January. Plenty of winter to go. It is much too early to throw in the towel.
They can throw it in, but it won’t sink. Too much ice.
a touch dramatic lol
@blacklabsmatter just a bit dramatic. Geez!!!! my grandsons are more mature.
Al Gore said the same thing 25 years ago.
Yea shouldnt we all be dead by now .. what a douchebag he is
@blacklabsmatter douchebag is too nice!!!! The greatest hoax of this century.
Such a hive mindset on this chat…but I love chatting about weather…again I think this winter is pretty much a wrap, hope I’m wrong but I don’t think so.
Looks like another winter of rumors of storms and more rumors of storms that won’t materialize and when they finally do it’ll be ice or sleet. The indicies show the writing on the wall, this winter is a wash literally a cold wash, just cold rain and sleet mixed with ice.
All we got here last year except a few 1-2″ storms.
Yeah really not holding my breath for anything different this year it’s like watching the same movie over and over again but expecting a different outcome, when there is not alternate ending
If your a snow lover in the Mid-Atlantic area you can pretty much change the channel at least for a little while because it’s all spring reruns mild and boring right through the new year.
I don’t know, but being on this thread for a few years now, watching the videos a pattern starts to emerge. Whenever Henry starts wishing for warm weather….and it’s only early December…the writing is on the wall for the rest of the winter. The PNA is and will not play a part in this winter at all IMO and if it’s not getting involved…winter…Read More
The BIG snowstorms: true nor’easters, not these kiddie nuisance events, just don’t seem to be in the cards for the eastern seaboard anymore. Snow droughts are usually cyclical but this has gone on many years now in Southern New England. Hilarious how we are talking about Winter being over already but I have to agree with you, Snowman55.
I can see a sort of El Nino trying to come on…sort of but it’s a wait and see game to see if it gets stronger before winter ends or after winter is pretty much finished sending a blowtorch up the eastern seaboard all winter, and we end up with just another rainy spring and then turn bone dry and hot by summers end
If we don’t get any big snowstorms it will do my back a lot of good not having to shovel after getting plowed in
Same
wow the indicies are looking so bad….oh well at least it’s cold for now…smh
For the NE snow lovers doesn’t look promising but we still can get those shitty Ice to rain storms.
yup and I hate those. Oh well what can you do. Sort of knew this winter would be a bust.
@weathermadness Henry what’s the link to weather and a beer?
Wow…I’ll believe it when I’m snow blowing it…wow
I have my toes crossed
I suspect this will a continuous trend this winter with storms missing the big cities due to the ongoing La Nina?
Multiple inside runners again
Kyles PNA is basically negative all winter,
You need to take his maps or a grain of salt. The important thing is is to look for the trend and the see when and where it becomes consistent
Is it really going to snow on Monday in PA?
Repost
Love seeing this type of signal show up, may not produce snow but it’s promising for sure.
Yeah very very warm October on tap. I’m thinking it’s just a taste of what’s coming this fall and winter.
Wow! Latest Kyle model outs the breaks on winter…smh
His longe range modeling is terrible.
Welp! we are now in a burn ban for South Central PA…it’s that dry….wow!
We managed a half inch of rain last Sunday but that was it for a while before or since, grass is dead and its very dry.
We had close to 2”+ everything is bone dry.
Yeah the grass has gone dormant to protect the root system that’s why everyones lawn has turned brown
Great long rang video yesterday Henry. Honeslty I could care less about snow this winter, just be cold enough to keep the grass asleep and the bugs away so I can enjoy my blackstone griddle and firepit and I’m good for the winter. Snow would be a plus as far as I’m concerned but not a big deal
Amazing how incredibly dry it has become leading into winter in the mid Atlantic and PA…hope this is not a sign of little to no snow this winter.
