So let me understand this: it is going to snow in TX, but not Central IL. Under the heading of ‘fair’, that isn’t. Oh well, I will just enjoy the cold.

EPS data has shifted towards the GEFS solution, with the MJO moving into phases 7, 8, and 1
From a Met I follow during winter months in NE, ” EPS data has shifted towards the GEFS solution, with the MJO moving robustly into phases 7, 8, and 1 through early January. The models diverge for mid-January, with the EPS going neutral and the GEFS moving through phases 2 and 3. Given the performance of the EPS, I am leaning toward the GEFS…Read More

Some Christmas weather memories. Do any of you other old timers recall this memorable storm?
Yes, I remember it as a 6 year old. The storm was just concluding in my then location on Friday, 12/23/66 at about 8:00 p.m. After about 9 inches of snow during the day, Tarzan with Ron Ely is just starting on NBC and the clouds are breaking and the moon is glistening down on the snow field.
Merry Christmas!!!!
Same drone observed the night before Christmas every year.
