76° in Winston-Salem, back into the 90s again today. Unfortunately, the AC isn’t working- hoping I’m on the early end of the repair schedule!

This was from early July. We had a severe thunderstorm warning in tornado warning. This was from my security camera.
So sick of this nasty heat and humidity!!!!!

81° and steaming into the 90s today I. Winston-Salem. Most of the big storms have been sliding by to our south over the last several days. We’re in the summer doldrums.

Looking at current radar(5:30 P.M.), you don’t often see a squall line that solid and that intense extending from southern WVA up to NE MD a distance of over 300 miles most likely.
Another monsoon type thunderstorm moving through the Hagerstown area currently at 3;15. The third at my place west of I-81 in the last 4 days. Between 3-4 inches of rain so far in those storms at my place.

I’m actually really liking this cool and unsettled pattern for summer in the NE.😎 Herb and I are getting our thunderstorms!

Chris Sowers a meteorologist in my area published this on socal media…….”I believe you’re finally starting to see the cold phase of the AMO (Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation) return. This temperature cycle in the Atlantic goes through two phases… negative (cold) and positive (warm). Each cycle generally lasts about 30 years, and we’ve been…Read More
From Weather Bell, “a warm AMO in the Atlantic favors blocking in the east during the winter season.”
Here’s the latest chart. We should be going into a cold phase.

Looks like a lot of us are excited about Henry’s new site!!
A delightful 61° to start the day in Winston-Salem. Although drought conditions are easing, half of our county is without water due to a major water main break. If it’s not one thing, it’s two others.
