It was 17-20” up here on our hill Had to shovel a path for the dogs on the deck. It snowed another inch yesterday too 😅

Up on my hill in NY I believe we got around 20” of snow. One of the highest in the county. Mountains of snow along the roads.

Snow just stopped here and have 4” for today in ny.
Apps went from 0-1” to 5” of snow today and tomorrow 😅
Apps are now showing 9” of snow in ny for 1/23-1/25. Fool me once, GFS!
No doubt off of an off hour run which would be 06z or 18z. 12z and 00z contain more up to date initiations.

Got a nice snow squall blow through NY around 5:30pm with a good coating of snow. Local app didn’t issue a weather warning until a couple hours beforehand but I knew to expect something 🙂 No thunder snow here though!
Are the models always this unreliable when there is a transition between la niña / el niño? Or is there something else going on?

People are now ice fishing here in NY. Not sure I like living somewhere where it’s cold enough for ice fishing. Ready for spring over here!
If i relocated, it would be Florida for Jan & Feb. I would never move any farther north permanently. If i moved 50 miles east or west out of the mountains, winter would be much different. I get 40-80″ of snow every year here, and have had over 100″ several times in my life.
