Hagerstown with no snow in sight this week will end March with 0.3 of an inch and 15.9 inches spread out over 4-5 winter events the last 4-5 months. Last season we had 2 inches total and the winter before 7 inches total. Winter weather has essentially evaporated in the last 7-10 years south of the Mason Dixon Line.
Yeah if you want snow you either have to move out west or further north. But the Mid-Atlantic snow days are behind us now. Those days of big nor easters are over

1997 April Fools Day Storm; 10 inches in Bucks County PA melted quickly (photo is following day). It must have been warm before, because the forsythia was out about a week early.
From the snow totals, it looks like it stalled off of the Cape and you guys in eastern Mass got pounded.
I like 3/12-15 dates in my area of NEPA very much. I will gladly take another one to make up for this lackluster winter

Superstorm 1993 in State College. 28″ if I recall correctly. That’s me in our driveway (holding a meterestick) down to the underground mini garage for our apartment building. Not seen in picture is about 10 feet up the driveway, our neighbor’s Volkswagon Rabbit, which they tried to drive out in the snow when it was only a few inches got stuck…Read More
Those were the good old days when winters storms on the east coast where still happening…little did we know it wall starting to come to an end…but pictures like this are good to have for memories
I remember that storm well. I was actually snowed into my apartment since the snow had drifted around the house where I where my apartment was and I had to call the landlord to allow me to access the house to exit the place. What a storm!
March 1958: History tells else it can happen in the March end game. I remember this from my childhood – too deep to play in. At least 2 feet at my house. Power outages everywhere.

Liked the weather advisory Lancaster Co. had yesterday! . The 1-3”-was really heavy to shovel (Sarc). Loved the error which gave 7.5” snow to Elizabethtown. Beautiful out, don’t stop the storms in the forecast…
18Z GFS sticks with Saturday storm although 12Z and 00Z are usually more dependable. As long as JB’s new friend Al is on board then I will go with it until it changes.
Yeah the ICON and NAM model seem to be the most consistent so far…the GFS is straight garbage with the Euro running a close second
I don’t see any storm for mid Atlantic this weekend on the 18z gfs. Storm stays well south over Georgia.

schuylkill co pa is getting dumped on 10.5 inches in the backyard and still snowing in mahanoy city
I think I’m up to about 8.5 inches so far but it’ s still coming down pretty good
Good morning. Well. there is a new kid on the block by the name of Al. Al unwaveringly called this snow event 5 days ago as all other models played catch-up. Some weather outlets never did change their maps or temperature profiles. Currently 31 degrees at my house with snow between 1-2 inches on the ground. Officially, Hagerstown so far is…Read More
I told my snow plow guy two days ago to stage in Hagerstown this morning. He did just that and was ready.
Looks like you’ll be getting paid! 😉

Uggggh, “winter” has been 2 weeks away since Thanksgiving…..chasing the indices for months now that seem to inevitably change once we’re in close proximity to them. I’ll believe it when I see it. For now, I’m going out and work in the yard the next 7-10 days….
The local TV outlets down in Philly now show the possibility of a storm early next week. Right now we are stuck at 37 deg (all day) with a cold drizzle. Maybe some snow flakes mixing in tonight but nothing significant. I’m kind of glad this wet snow is avoiding us. Nothing worse than trying to snow blow or shovel! I prefer the fluffy stuff we had…Read More
