60° start to the day in Winston-Salem. All eyes are on the rain chances- even if it puts a damper on Merlefest, the bluegrass festival in Wilkesboro, west of here.

Which name do you think we get to this hurricane season? Henry’s algorithms are still in winter but I’m thinking of warmer days 🙂 I’ll go with Nana.
Here Isaias, “I” named storms are infamous in my area in Delaware
No 70° days in the next 10 days 🥶
65° in Winston-Salem, heading into the 80s today. Lots of wildfires in the southeast right now, so smoke has joined pollen in plaguing us. Eying those upcoming rain chances longingly.

New Hurricane Intensity Scale(s) Revision Coming? Article in USA Today indicates the NHC wants to revise Saffir-Simpson or come up with more scales to address hurricane intensity. Excessive rainfall and storm surge need to be part of the warning system, something SS does not cover. JB’s team at WxBell has come up with a Power and Impact scale…Read More

My account was deactivated because my credit card number has changed. I corrected that and reactivated my account. However, the radar maps are still showing data from April 20. Why is that? Thanks
What is the link that is having the issue.

Much calmer today with our high expected to be only in the low to mid 70s. As of 12:45 PDT the temperature here is 72 deg and…Read More

Had 26 lo Chambersburg area. 90-26 not good week on plants but most adapt. Lose buds but not plant in most cases. Endless summer bloom on new growth. Trim back any dead wood hard let grow. See blooms later than normal. Never bloom as first bought as not in perfect condition to start. Old variety hydrangeas don’t do as well. .
Good morning! It’s a nippy 40° in Winston-Salem. Highs in the 60s, another sunny day.
Looks like my 20 yr old Hydrangeas might be done.
My experience with this particular flower is that the plant might survive but most likely won’t bloom this season. I only have 2 and I covered them last evening. 27 in Hagerstown this morning.
Thanks for the info. I been landscaping for 40 yrs now. These are the Endless Summer hydrangeas the bloom continuously throughout the season. But there’s been so much damage from the cold. I doubt I see any flowers this season.
