UGH, 25 degrees again this morning. Looking warmer this week.
27 degrees this morning near Minneapolis.
Just outside Minneapolis- solid 13 inches of snow with another few more to go. Very windy but not yet cold… 28 degrees. Should drop to single digits and negative WC by morning.
Its crazy warm in Minnesota. Headed up to a high of 52 degrees. That’s 27 degrees above average. Just ridiculous. We should be in the low to mid 20s and not see 50’s until April. Yeah, I keep saying it. Henry, your forecast for the Upper Midwest was a complete BUST!!! This is three years in a row. Hopefully you can get closer next year!
Wow really man? Why are you still paying Henry then if you’re so upset like a kid who did’t get a sled under his Christmas tree because he didn’t get his forecast right for your exact location. There’s other guys on the internet you can pay for who no doubt get every forecast right lol. Schewww.
Really blacklabsmatter? You all were complaining about the forecast until two weeks ago, when you finally started to see snow. Many times Henry had to tell you all to relax and wait and see. I am trying to show Henry is that the Upper Midwest (which is larger than the North East region) has had a miss on its forecast for the past 3 years. This…Read More
constructive criticism to a lifelong met as good as Henry.. you cant make it up
OMG, people. Get over yourself. I am not saying its Henrys fault. He submitted the winter forecast for the entire country. I was only bringing up the fact the upper midwest region has miss the forecast. All I wanted to do is to point it out in hopes he can come up with different solutions for next winters forecast. You al are overreacting.…Read More
Wish it was 50 here. lol
I find it funny how Henry warns people about wind chills for the NE and Mid Atlantic for – 20. He never said a thing when the Upper Midwest was at -50.
Finally warming up in Minnesota. We reach 18 degrees today with 20’s in sight for Minneapolis. The warmest we have seen in a month. Much more typical for this time of year
yep 19 here its Balmy
Henry, you keep skirting the question. What do you expect for the Upper Midwest for the remainder of the season? The season has been a bust, however is there potential for any significant late season snow? “In like a lamb, Out like a lion”
Its cold up north. -40 WC just outside Minneapolis We warm up to -12 this afternoon
I know the excitement is about the snow and ice. One deadly risk that is not being discussed is the brutal cold in the Upper Midwest. While the east coast may drop to 10 degrees in colder areas, it will drop to -30 up here. Wind Chills will be close to -60 in Northern Minnesota. Additionally, at this temperature, trees tend to pop and “explode”…Read More
Northern Minnesota. Windchills already -45 below 0 with a high (this morning) of -21 degrees.
Henry, You forecasted a snowy winter for the Upper Midwest. Still haven’t seen much. Will we eventually get some snow? I’m so jealous of the impending east coast snow.
The cold has started. -9 air with -30 windchill… just outside Minneapolis. This is only the beginning with the worst coming on Thursday
8 degrees (-10 wc). We had a surprise 4+ inches yesterday. Cold is locking in and will get colder through the week. Back to typical Minnesota cold
Its already 25 degrees this morning with a blow torch of 41 degree forecast today. 18 degrees above average. Sorry Henry, your forecast for the Upper Midwest is a bust! actually, its been a bust 3 consecutive years. I was so hopeful with your forecast when you released it. Hopefully next year!!!
It’s only January 12th. You have 3 months to go.
I understand this but models aren’t showing a much snow up here. Are you looking at a back end winter for the region to bring us to normal snow?
models change every 6 hours, we are in a pattern change, and things can be a little chaotic, patience is the key
Henry, Will it ever snow again in Minnesota? We have had more rain than snow. I want your forecast to come true
One up on us here in west central Maryland. It never snows or rains. Be thankful.
Yes there is snow coming!
Still waiting on the colder and snowier than average forecast to come true for the Upper Midwest. Currently 33 degrees at Eden Prairie, MN which is 10 degrees above average highs and its only morning. This is the second thaw of the season and its only the first week in January.
Year after year I get excited with an active and early winter season for the upper midwest. Year after year I am disappointed. We are so behind average dispite a winter forecast calling for above average snow starting around Halloween. Another Miss.
37 degrees and rain in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. That’s 12 degrees above average. Still cooler than the past two days. With this warm signal and upcoming El Nino, can we officially say that the winter forecast is a bust? I see no prolonged cold or snow for the Upper Midwest anytime soon. We are already have a 14 inch snow deficit. For a…Read More
Eden Prairie, MN. 23 degrees with a fresh 5 inches of snow yesterday.
Eden Prairie, MN: Heavy snow and 27 degrees. Beautiful. We were in an advisory with the warning north of us as they expected rain/sleet to hit. Not too surprising that they blew this forecast. Storm shifted south a bit allowing us to have snow and not the messy sleet.
