I see the SOI values are down into the El Nino territory, let’s see if it keeps up and curious to see how the models respond.
Good morning, winds roaring here, front just went thru, temps dropping fast.

One of the coldest winters in a long time. I still haven’t gone above freezing.
We were at 32 the other day. Hasn’t been above freezing here since 1/22.
We had 9 days in January that the high never went over the average low for the day. That is cold
It’s been brutal. Since the end of September it’s been nothing but cool to cold. Not many warm days in between. I lost count of the endless morning in the single digits.
The ice is good and thick. Has a foot of snow on it but thick. Problem I’m not fishing in this happy horse poop. Tuesday supposed to hit upper 30’s.
Nice coating. Very fine light snow 24 degrees
the ribbon of 6+ inches for RI and ma now showing up on both the gfs and euro 0z
just noticed bernie rayno’s take on this snow storm .. he was spot on .. from two days ago! good job BR
gfs now has -7 inches in most of ri tonight through saturday afternoon.. it will be a surprise storm for many homage expecting two inches
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, change who can see it or it's been deleted.
boy i hate auto correct and
it looks to me that the trough is setting up over se ri into se ma and maybe worcester .. there should be a stripe of 4-8 inches in this zone with the fluff factor
btw these troughs sont
troughs don’t usually set up over nyc … some said in their file at
forecast a few days ago that this was what they were predicting

Storm back on 18z GFS for end of next week but take it with a grain of salt. Hagerstown currently 26 degrees with very light snow/flurries making for a glaze on everything. I guess the arctic front has not come through yet since the wind is still out of the south.

Early this morning, radar showed precipitation over the Las Vegas Valley, but nothing reached the surface despite the seeming impressive radar returns. Southern CA is getting some rainfall today, though it is scattered in nature. Our temperatures here are still above average by about 10 deg. As of 14:30 PST, it is 72 deg. with light and variable…Read More
Next stratospheric warming event will be here again after Feb 18th. In the long range its shows several more events into early April. We shall see about that.

Time exit snow train for I81 corridor from Harrisburg to southern VA. At 12 in in snow hole Southern Pa south. More snow Philly lot more Pittsburgh and more in N C. After our last blast with more wind should be it. Need moisture badly. No hope
Hagerstown caught the snow hole train years ago in the I-81 corridor.. Currently flurries. 9 inches total for season with 7 of that in one storm now a couple of weeks ago so basically it has snowed twice since Thanksgiving.

Seems like the snow is heavy over us and isn’t leaving. Light big fluffy flakes

A balmy 27° in Westchester county! I’m wearing my light winter coat.
Temperature 8 degrees.
Good morning, 17 degrees and awaiting the arctic blast. Lack luster snow here so far this season, 5 inches, 4 came with the storm that went to rain and the other inch from a few light snows. But boy has it been cold this year. Rivers and bays frozen, there using ice breakers to free up Tangier and Smith Islands. Boats are the only way to and…Read More

Welp! It would appear that all of the models have abandoned the Valentines day storm for next weekend…at least for now
The operational run have, but ensembles and AI have not
I hope it snows knee deep to a 50 foot Indian.
Its Not a surprise, All models and snow maps more than a few days out are subject to change big time. Even a few days out they change a little. But have to give them credit on last weekend storm. Some of them had it away from the coast 4-5 days out. Some had it skirting the I95 area.
