“Breaking Down the Madness in Every Storm.”

Fellow Weather Enthusiasts The movie PRESSURE is a must watch. It’s the true story of the forecasters working directly for General Eisenhower attempting to predict the weather 72 hours before D-DAY. The two lead forecasters with differing theories on forecasting is almost like watching Bastardi vs Henry; that is relying ONLY on past weather…Read More
Yes..saw it already..great movie!!
P.S. I am NOT knocking analogs for forecasts. They are useful for long range forecasting. I believe Henry, Bastardi and others are studying the winters following ‘super’ El Nino summers to come up with winter forecasts.

Hanging out in Pawleys Island, SC this week with a lot of family- 4 houses full! Several storm chasers in the group, so we’ll have our weather eyes peeled. Highs in the 90’s, muggy, sandy and salty.
The Pawleys pier was truncated by hurricane Ivan, which made a direct hit on Georgetown, a few miles south of here. There is still video on Facebook showing the end collapsing and floating away.
Looks great down there!

I read that nyc hasn’t been this hot since 2012… I remember that summer (bought my first AC!) and also that little hurricane called Sandy that came in Oct. It was a neutral summer I believe (moving from La Niña to an El Niño that didn’t materialize). Wondering if there are any parallels for us this year in light of what Henry said about stormy Aug/Sept…

I hate the heat and humidity.
it’s like the Amazon river basin outside today.
Lol 79 dew point 91 degrees with Saharan dust in palm beach county. Took me about 15 years to get used to it.😀
I could never get used to that
I want to move back north where I came from, but I love the beach (where its cooler)and surf fishing,

Can you describe the forces that keep indices locked into the current pattern for such an extended period of time..?
thanks
I love watching and listening to the radio and to hear how excited and how happy people are high-fiving each other because the temps are in the mid 90s. They say get outside. It’s beautiful out. I think they need to be throat punched. Cause this while this sucks.
Sick, demented individuals lol
53 degrees. Snow in northern New England? And again next week? Frost and freeze this week. Amazing
Muggy outside!!! 74 degrees. 🤮🤮🤮🤮 In about three more weeks, the days start getting shorter.
It was very uncomfortable last night as I didn’t want to put the air on.

Wow looks like a winter wonderland in spring. Hopefully you can break out of this pattern sometime soon.

The nws forecast for the u.p. of Michigan is nuts. 1 to 3 feet with local up to 4 with winds to 70. That’s crazy..damn I wish I was there
@blacklabsmatter. It was proclaimed that 30” snowstorms would never happen anymore!!
Ahh lol i do remember that!
Damn those climate people. Lol

The cave of the winds in Niagara Falls photo taken yesterday. There has not been this much ice in a decade. Have a great day all!
Wow I have now had a few inches of snow over my seasonal average snowfall in Rochester. I am looking forward for the brief warmup coming later this coming week even if rain comes with it. I can still feel excited for another storm or two coming before spring but hoping spring won’t be too unpleasant but will see updates ftom Henry hoping for…Read More
Hagerstown has had almost the same amount except you have to move the decimal point one place to the left. See you can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Peoria (Central Illinois) was 26* this morning and reached 70* about 2:30 this afternoon. Went from running the furnace to having the windows open. Lots of Robins moving through headed north. But then, cold and snow due on Sunday, so I won’t get Spring fever quite yet.
I repeat. What happened to Patriot?
I don’t understand what you are asking.
