The amounts will be all over the place. It consistently shows snow in the same areas. Snow breeds snow.
Except it shows Hagerstown getting bombed and we have had nothing like that the last 3 months. Only 9 inches since November in several minor events.
Totals are irrelevant now I just like the fact it shows snow over the same areas that it has been snowing this season thus far.
I love those YouTube wannabe Meteorologists. One channel claims they seen this warm up coming weeks ago? What planet are you from? Saying 60’s with rain in the north east? Nothing but clickbait trash.

How can the EURO have posted a high of 12 for NYC on Sunday Feb. 7 but NOAA has posted a high of 25 for Hagerstown the same day? Seems impossible.
Well Sunday is actually Feb 8 but still.

The predicted 18” from the blizzard in Raleigh. 🫤
You will be all day shoveling that deck,
This was a very unpredictable storm…most mets jumped on it way too soon and there was just a ton of click bait videos on YouTube talking about a mega storm. Simple truth it’s way too cold for storm to really perform as predicted. Cold air is dry and it can kill a storm sometimes.
All of that cold air that predicted in February if it’s too cold I see a lot of frowns coming from snow lovers when these storms keep getting shoved south and out to sea. Not saying that we won’t get any snow…but the extreme temps will be an issue so set you expectations reasonably…just saying
As long as it stays way below average the next six weeks, the snow on the ground now will still be around the second week of March.
You are in the split of the storm
Yup

While the country east of the Rockies is locked in the deep freeze, we are in a warming trend in the Southwest. In the Las Vegas area, maximum temperatures will be at or near 70 deg this weekend before a gradual cool down next week. Low temperatures have been close to slightly above seasonal averages for the past couple of weeks. No precipitation…Read More

I keep hearing the B word for new England this weekend…..lets see??!!
PATRIOTS SUPERBOWL!!!
The Cowboys are out, so no point in watching. Today’s NFL is not what it used to be! Gambling is ruining the sport
Lol!!! The NFL is more than likely one of THE most corrupt sports today probably next to the NBA. Wins are bought and paid for by bets has absolutely nothing to do with athletic abilities and talent unless your good at betting. Vegas runs the NFL and so many other sports today ….and NO I’m not a sports fan at all but I do bet and the Superbowl…Read More

pats rule in the weather
An absolute classic January snow filled football game..loved every damn minute of it
Great game!!!
amen
Only 12 degrees. I think the models are over doing the amount of warm air being projected.
This is how I feel as well. I dont know about all the mixing precip in the models. It might happen! but it really feels like it wont, I dunno. The cold feels too entrenched and too cold.
Hope so
jcrean1995
it amazes me how quickly warm air can invade a storm , even with super cold air mass in place …. yuck
Yeah it does, moisture air has a infinity for dry air. I’m guessing that’s why. Being very dry air I think some of these totals might be a tad high but still a lot of snow for us.

Just removed all the roof panels off my gazebo,.. instructions say it can’t hold more than 5″ of snow
I just finish putting together the new 48″ snow blower attachment for my tractor. What a pain.

Worst weather on the planet?
@weathermadness Storms are looking good Henry! Hopefully they pan out and bring the Big Daddy snows we have been looking for.
It’s all good Henry we are all well aware that winter is over as far as snow is concerned for the Mid-Atlantic, and it would appear that you are coming around to that same solution, took you a little while to get there but you are there as well. You have to realize that the MId-Atlantic snow geese have accepted this sort of weather pattern as the…Read More
We shall see
February has always been the snowiest month in my area and January is the 2nd snowiest month. We are only on day 2 of January. Plenty of winter to go. It is much too early to throw in the towel.
They can throw it in, but it won’t sink. Too much ice.
a touch dramatic lol
Al Gore said the same thing 25 years ago.
Yea shouldnt we all be dead by now .. what a douchebag he is
Such a hive mindset on this chat…but I love chatting about weather…again I think this winter is pretty much a wrap, hope I’m wrong but I don’t think so.

Awesome sweater Henry.

I vote for the Big Daddy.
So the GFS is showing a major for the Jan8-9 in the mid-Atlantic up to SNE. Too bad it is the GFS. Too bad it is the 18Z. And too bad it is 10 days out. 3 strikes and you are out in this game.
CMC joins the parade for snow in Mid-Atlantic in th Dec. 24-26 time frame. Heck of a way to run a warm-up.
