You can’t get away from it
Some interesting thunderstorms tonight! Looking forward to Henry doing a weather and a beer meeting in May as he said on his video to talk about his newly released thoughts on next winter. Hope to see you all then!
Was excited to hear Henry say he might have a monthly weather and a beer to discuss the upcoming El Nino and the possible impact to next winter! He mentioned the analog year 2009-2010 which was a big winter for a lot of the Northeast including here in Rochester. I remember that winter having terrific sledding for winter lovers and horrific…Read More

Temps were 65 half hour ago, now they are 45 and it is raining pretty good here in Rochester. Had some garden variety thunderstorms overnight. The STorm Prediction Center in Norman Oklahoma about 15 mi uses ago issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 PM tonight, but the lake breeze boundary set up to dop the temps where I am so I am thinking…Read More
This is a photo from a woman in Ishpeming Michigan and this morning she was “swimming” as she said to get to her bird feeder! Wow!
Notice the depth of the snow against those trees. It gives you more perspective how much snow fell.
Good morning all. Yesterday here in Rochester got up to a high of 68 then there was snow last evening until around 1 am. Received 3 inches of snow and it is currently 17 degrees with blowing snow and a wind chill of -3. I got off easy as a lot of people had much worst conditions. Have a good day all!

Wow I have now had a few inches of snow over my seasonal average snowfall in Rochester. I am looking forward for the brief warmup coming later this coming week even if rain comes with it. I can still feel excited for another storm or two coming before spring but hoping spring won’t be too unpleasant but will see updates ftom Henry hoping for…Read More
Hagerstown has had almost the same amount except you have to move the decimal point one place to the left. See you can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
Wow what a storm. Hope you all being hit are safe. I am sitting pretty here in Rochester with only a couple of inches of snow. I have a brother in New Jersey and have not heard from him and I know there are a lot of power outages there and in Massachusetts and other places. Anyone hear from Natalie in Westchester? Hope she is OK.
Nat posted a pic below. Looks like 18 inches
Thanks
This was released from the NY Post about 20 minutes ago. Wow.
A lot of people in NYC that saw this are saying g “now he’s a meteorolgist” which is the first thing I thought and a lot of people commented will he impose a snow tax? The most important thing of course is how will this get handled. We will see.
Wow what a storm this is going to be and who thought the GFS would be the leader this time. Know some people in NYC and gave then a heads up with what Henery has been saying all along and they are all stocked up with essentials for a while and worry about how this storm will be cleaned up when all is set and done, like Henry also said. I…Read More
Wow last night was wild with the thunderstorm south of Buffalo with freezing rain which ended up in Rochester but much lighter and the rumbles stayed to the south. This is a picture of my local meteorologist reporting on it last night and I took a whole video on him talking about in his 20 years of meteorology he has never seen this before. Could…Read More
Wow what a day here in Rochester! Started off this morning with dense fog then we received rain, sleet then freezing rain. There was a recent severe thunderstorm warning south of Buffalo with actual freezing rain without it and it is headed for Rochester which will have rumbles of thunder with some freezing rain in a weakened state but we have…Read More

10 years ago Rochester received 18.3 inches of snow which still holds the record for most snowfall on this day in February. Interested to see what March will bring and the possible modoki El Nino for next winter.
